CPU

The CPU or central processing unit is the brains of the computer. It consists of three major components: the arithmetic-logic unit, the controller, and the registry.

The controller orchestrates the activities. The arithmetic-logic unit performs the calculations, and the registry is the memory in which data is stored while operations are being performed.
