The manuals on this site are designed to supplement material contained in the text for the course; they are not intended to be stand-alone books. They contain areas not addressed by the text or areas not covered in sufficient detail. Reading assignments are not normally assigned from the manual. Students are, however, responsible for the material as it is covered.
